Unlock the Power of GyroStim in Neurorehabilitation

Image
Neurorehabilitation is a vital aspect of recovery from various neurological conditions. Among the emerging therapies GyroStim has gained attention for its unique approach to rehabilitation. This article explores how GyroStim works and its impact on recovery. GyroStim is FDA-cleared for treatment of vestibular dysfunction --- which manifests in many forms, particularly following concussion. Understanding GyroStim Therapy GyroStim therapy utilizes whole-body incremental rotational movements and integrated interactive challenges to stimulate both the brain and body. The GyroStim provides a controlled environment that enables patients to enhance and rehabilitate their physical and cognitive functions. GyroStim therapy can be highly effective for individuals suffering from conditions like concussion, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and multiple sclerosis. The multi-axis rotational therapy encourages neuroplasticity, promoting cognitive and physical progress---even for those who have platea...

GyroStim & NFL Concussion

Image
The Neurologic Wellness Institute in Chicago, with two locations and two GyroStims, was featured on the local NBC Sports affiliate in a story about their work with local television announcer and ex-Chicago Bears running back, Mike Adamle. Adamle is currently is openly dealing with cognitive dysfunction most likely due to previous concussions and is working with the practitioners at NWI. Part of his regimen includes GyroStim training , which is featured in the video excerpt above. Additionally, to support patients and families who may be living with CTE, Mike and his wife Kim have established their own not-for-profit organization – “ The Mike Adamle Project: Rise Above ” – a program of the Concussion Legacy Foundation . For more information and/or to donate to “Rise Above,” fans are urged to visit GoFundMe.com/MikeAdamleProject .

What is GyroStim?

Image
At GyroStim, we are driven by the science that clearly demonstrates the efficacy of vestibular stimulation and sensorimotor exercise for a multitude of conditions and purposes.  Fueled by this knowledge, we are committed to harnessing vestibular stimulation and sensorimotor exercise in ways that allow them to be applied with confidence, control, and replication not only for the advancement of scientific research, but more importantly, to further clinical applications for rehabilitation, human performance, and quality of life.     GyroStim is an automated multi-axis rotating chair integrated with an interactive laser targeting system. It delivers non-invasive and non-pharmaceutical strategies that challenge human function and performance. GyroStim works by providing data-driven incremental conditioning to the human sensorimotor system through specific combinations of vestibular stimulation, sensorimotor exercise, and cognitive challenge. Today...

GyroStim: Helping Man Get to Mars

Image
GyroStim: Helping Man Get to Mars   GyroStim technology used for a new study published in Journal of Vestibular Research, 6/2019 Research scientists at the University of Colorado/Boulder are investigating strategies for making artificial gravity tolerable during manned missions to Mars --- and a modified GyroStim is providing solutions. "Astronauts experience bone loss, muscle loss, cardiovascular deconditioning, and more in space. Today, there are a series of piecemeal countermeasures to overcome these issues," said Dr. Torin Clark , an assistant professor in the Ann and H.J. Smead Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences . "But artificial gravity is great because it can overcome all of them at once." However, a significant drawback to artificial gravity is motion sickness. This is where GyroStim comes in. Engineering a Solution Clark worked with GyroStim inventor and CEO, Kevin Maher, to customize a GyroStim that would fulfill...

NEW RESEARCH: Active Concussion Recovery

Image
Active Concussion Recovery For decades the standard concussion recovery protocol has been rest and do nothing until the symptoms “hopefully” go away. Not anymore. Active concussion recovery is a hot topic these days with recent studies demonstrating faster dissipation of symptoms, decreased emotional impact, increased energy, improved balance -- which all combine for significantly faster return to sports , school, work, and life in general .   Click the button at right for a summary of seven recent research studies covering different aspects of active concussion recovery.   Since 2011 GyroStim has been at the forefront of active concussion recovery... when it was used to help NHL Superstar Sidney Crosby actively overcome his concussion. Fast forward to 2018, many thousands of athletes and people from all walks of life have benefited from GyroStim and active recovery strategies. What to learn why? Click Here.
